Craig, Lonnie R. (P2, C2, L6)

Private Lonnie R. Craig was born 13 June 1938, in Bedford, Trimble County, Kentucky. He enlisted in the Kentucky National Guard on 2 October 1955, at Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky, becoming a member of Company A, 201st Engineer Battalion (Combat) (A). On 9 October 1955, while enroute to the Carrollton National Guard Armory for drill he was killed in an automobile accident. Craig was a passenger in the vehicle, three other members of his unit were injured in the wreck. Craig died in the hospital on 12 October 1955. He is buried in the Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, Kentucky.
