Jones, Orvil (P1R, C1, L7)

jones orvil headstonePrivate Orvil Jones, 20, of Cynthiana, Harrison County, died of spinal meningitis in the Louisville City Hospital on 16 April 1917. Jones had originally be hospitalized with pneumonia. Jones was serving with the Supply Company of the 1st Kentucky Infantry Regiment.

Jones enlisted at Fort Thomas on 28 June 1916 with Company L of the 1st Kentucky Regiment. On 20 September 1916 he was transferred to Supply Company of the 1st Kentucky Infantry and promoted to Waggoner.

Jones is buried in Beards Cemetery, Sadieville, Scott County.
