Mullins, Peter Lawrence (P3, C1, L33)

mullins peter lawrenceSergeant Peter L. Mullins, Lejunior, Harlan County, Kentucky, was born on 21 July 1984, at Avon Park, Highlands County, Florida. He was a 2003, graduate of Evarts High School, where he played football and was a member of the school’s JROTC program. He joined the Kentucky National Guard at the age of 18, becoming a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry. Mullins came from a military family, his grandfather, served during the Korean War; his uncle served in Vietnam; and his mother served in Iraq.

Mullins served a year in Iraq with Company D, 149th Infantry. He died in a motorcycle accident at Coxton, in Harlan County, Kentucky, on 17 April 2007. At the time of his death he was serving on active duty stationed at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mullins is buried in Evarts Memorial Gardens, Kildav, Harlan County, Kentucky.
