Phillips, Russell Kenneth (P2, C3, L36)

Phillips, R. K 001Technical Sergeant Russell K. Phillips was born 27 December 1919, at Tuttle, Oklahoma. He enlisted with Company B, 149th Infantry at Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, on 22 February 1937. He was inducted into federal service on 17 January 1941. Phillips died of wounds on 27 February 1945, and is buried at Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky.

    Russell K. Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Phillips, of Somerset, who was previously reported as having been slightly wounded on Luzon, Feb. 27, died of the wounds his parents were advised this week. He left Somerset with Company B, National Guards, in January, 1941. Beside his parents he is survived by several brothers and sistersphillips russell k headstone.
