Young, Fred (P1, C3, L24)

fred youngPrivate Fred Young was born ca. 1898, at Stanford, Garrard County, Kentucky. He served with Company D, 2nd Regiment, Kentucky National Guard during the 1916-1917 Mexican Border Service. He entered federal service at Fort Thomas, Kentucky, on 12 June 1917. At the time he entered into federal service he was living at Lancaster, Kentucky.

While on active duty he was transferred to Company F, 4th Infantry. Young died of wounds on 23 October 1918, while serving with the 4th Infantry Regiment. He is buried in the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, Kentucky.
